In the face of ever-increasing energy prices and a growing need for energy efficiency, heat exchangers are becoming an indispensable element of any modern HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) system . But what exactly is a heat exchanger, how does it work and why is it so important for both domestic and professional and marine applications ?

What is a recuperator?

A heat recovery unit is a device that uses the heat from the exhaust air in a building or room to warm (or cool) the fresh incoming air. This saves a significant amount of energy that would otherwise be spent on heating or cooling. It is part of a heat recovery ventilation system (HRV) and is often installed in combination with air conditioners or other HVAC systems.
